Out-of-the-box Trusted Board from Arrow Electronics Speedily Secures IoT-edge Applications

 

CENTENNIAL, Colo.--The Arrow Electronics Shield96 board is a trusted Linux platform that is equipped with Sequitur Labs’ EmSPARK Security Suite already integrated to protect security-conscious applications such as IoT edge devices.

Built with a Microchip SAMA5D2 processor System-in-Package (SiP) that contains an Arm Cortex-A5 MPU and 1Gbit DDR2 RAM, Shield96 leverages hardware-based security including TrustZone architecture, tamper detection, secure data storage, secure boot, and cryptographic accelerators.

EmSPARK Security Suite provides a robust security framework protecting embedded firmware, keys and security-critical assets through the entire device lifecycle. It works with the native hardware security features, provides tools for secure device provisioning, and APIs to access essential trust services such as secure storage, firmware update and payload verification.

With the security suite integrated, Shield96 is a security-onboarded solution that can cut time to market by at least six months. The board is suitable for proof-of-concept, development and testing, and connects users with Arrow services. These include hardware/software and application development, scalable cloud or self-hosted analytics and dashboard development, and provisioning services to help create customized production-ready systems.

Arrow Electronics will showcase the Shield96 board at the Embedded World trade show (booth 340, hall 4A) in Nuremberg, Germany (February 25 to 27, 2020).
